La normalità è il principio ispiratore dell’industriale Manieri, una normalità a misura sua e del suo ruolo. Attorno a lui una famiglia percorsa da “normali” pulsioni, e perciò avviluppata in un groppo di ostilità e rancori. Sullo sfondo l’Italia al finire diun’epoca, in un’estate torrida, imbrattata dal malaffare. Niente di più normale, perciò, se qualcuno ci lascia le penne e se nel fattaccio sono coinvolti tutti i cari parenti, possibili autori dell’assassinio. A sbrogliare l’intrigo mortale è chiamato il commissario Marè, un “questurino” speciale, che conosce a fondo l’orrore del mondo e la precarietà della giustizia.
