Nel corso della storia, la cultura veneziana ha prodotto una copiosa letteratura in dialetto- e nel secolo appena trascorso, come nei precedenti, si è avuta una produzione di scritti in dialetto veneziano abbastanza ampia, siano essi testi di poesia, di teatro, o di prosa. I curatori di questo repertorio hanno pensato di mettere a disposizione, in maniera organica, il materiale raccolto nel corso di tanti anni, spulciando cataloghi di biblioteche e librerie antiquarie, curiosando tra scaffali di collezioni private, sfogliando opuscoli, libri, manoscritti e quant'altro utile al reperimento di informazioni riguardanti le pubblicazioni in dialetto veneziano nel Novecento.
